About Techsperience

Built by people who've spent twenty-five years
in the room when the IT goes wrong.

Techsperience is a managed-IT firm for private-practice law firms across London and the Home Counties. We were founded in 1999, we work with firms of 20 to 150 staff, and we sell the strategic planning that comes after the helpdesk.

The story

One general manager,
a lot of lost days.

Techsperience started in 1999 because the founder watched his father — a general manager in a non-IT business — lose days at a time to computer problems nobody seemed accountable for. The PC would freeze; the server would forget itself overnight; nobody could say when it would be fixed or who was thinking about it.

We were started on the principle that non-technical professionals — managing partners, finance directors, fee-earners — shouldn't have their working week hijacked by the tools they're supposed to be working through. The first client was the UK's first long/short hedge fund. Twenty-five years on, we run technology for a few dozen private-practice law firms instead, and the principle hasn't moved.

That principle is what made us walk the strategic mile. If you don't want a senior partner spending Tuesday afternoon on a printer dispute, the printer dispute can't be the only thing you're paid to solve.

How we work

A short set of
operating principles.

Five things that shape how we work — applied to every client, every conversation.

Strategy is not an upsell.

Quarterly vCIO sessions and continuous Technology Alignment are part of every engagement. Not a premium tier. Not an annual extra. They’re how we know what we’re being paid to do next month.

Reactive support is necessary, not the point.

We do it well — issues owned end-to-end, fast resolution, real humans on the phone. But the strategic work is what makes the relationship worth having for both sides.

In person matters.

We work across London and the Home Counties because we've drawn the line where we can still credibly be in your reception by lunchtime. National managed-IT firms can't make that promise. We can.

Plain numbers, on the page.

Pricing is per user, per month, between £100 and £150 — published on the website. The range, the worked examples, and the factors that move a firm within it are all in plain view.

Mutual selection.

An IT relationship is a long one. We'd rather find out about a mismatch on a 10-minute call than three months into a contract — and we'd want a prospective client to feel the same.

Beyond IT

Three brands,
one industry.

Techsperience isn't the only thing we run. The same team behind the IT firm builds and writes for the same world — small UK private-practice law firms — in two more places.

TECHSPERIENCE

Managed IT for private-practice law firms across London and the Home Counties. The firm you're reading about now.

02 · SOFTWARE

CLEARMATTER

A lightweight matter-management product for small firms that have outgrown spreadsheets but don't want a heavyweight practice-management platform.

03 · LIBRARY

OPERATE LEGAL

A free, ad-free operations field manual for the people running small law firms — playbooks, templates, decisions, benchmarks.

Why this matters for an IT decision: most managed-IT firms could not tell you, off the top of their heads, what a typical billing-leakage conversation sounds like, what an SRA file review looks for, or where a 30-fee-earner firm's intake breaks down. We can — because we run two other businesses where we're paid to know.

Frequently asked

Questions we get,
answered plainly.

Where is Techsperience based? +

At The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. We work with firms across London and the Home Counties — Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

How long has Techsperience been operating? +

Since 1999. Twenty-five years, registered as Techsperience Limited (Co. No. 03741699 in England and Wales).

Is Techsperience the same as Fulcrum? +

The same team. Fulcrum was the brand we used historically for our financial-sector clients; we’ve consolidated everything under Techsperience and now focus on private-practice law firms.

Do you work with firms outside the legal sector? +

Today, no. We work exclusively with private-practice UK law firms of 20 to 150 staff. We expect to add a second sector during 2027.

What’s the difference between Techsperience, Clearmatter and Operate Legal? +

Three things, same world. Techsperience is the managed-IT firm. Clearmatter is a matter-management software product for small firms. Operate Legal is a free operations resource library. We run all three; you can buy or read any of them independently.

Do you offer a free IT review or audit? +

No. We offer a 10-minute call to see if we’re well-matched, followed by an in-person meeting if we are. The substantive technical work happens after we’ve agreed to work together — not as a free pitch.

The next step

Let's get to know each other.

The IT firm you work with for the next decade isn't a vendor you buy. They're a partner you choose — and we'd like to be chosen on substance.
